Profile
A few years ago, I was asked to coordinate a Bollywood Dance Life Group (hobby) program at our church as a weekly evening activity, which I ended up running it for 3 1/2 years because enjoyed it so much. This unexpected role gave me an 1) ONGOING INSIGHT into the impact of such a program on the overall well-being of a group of people.
Around the same period, through my car rear mirror, in front of a nursing home, I happened to see a person sitting on a wheel chair. I watched this person closer to an hour and pictured myself in to that person's seat. That was a 2) VERY POWERFUL FEELING.....and (it is still alive in my head) started to wondering how my life would be in that wheelchair and possibly being part of a holistic program make a difference?
These 2 incidents, sparked my passion for assisting people and improving their holistic health and well-being.
As a reality check, I have nominated a career adviser to seeking out the reality of my passion and dream. Within a few weeks I was convinced through my career adviser that what I am dreaming is a real passion in my life.
Since then, although my studies and careers were in Economics, Budget Management, Procurement and Contracting, Project Management, Business Administration and Stakeholder Management. In 2010, I did further studies in Fitness and developed my own "Blended Exercise Programs & Routines" and provided the classes after my full time work and outside hours to different age groups including people at old age homes and hostels.
Although I did not like yoga in the past, while I was studying my fitness studies I started liking that particular style of yoga and convinced myself that teaching yoga would be a great avenue to assisting people to get out of their holistic health and wellness issues.
Therefore, in 2010, I did further Yoga and Pilates Blended study in Australia and became a Yoga Australia Registered and Private Health Fund Recognized Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer and Group Instructor.
In 2014, I did more advanced yoga studies in India's one of the oldest Yoga Ashrams.
In 2016, I became the Yoga Australia (Australian Peak body for Yoga) ACT Coordinator mainly because I wanted to make a difference in what I am passionate about and its best practice, members, clients, community and also making recognized nationally and internationally.
I teach Evidence Based or Regular Individual and Group Yoga and Chair Stretches at different places including at the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), Private and Public Schools, Indigenous Groups, Seniors Groups and at my own studio in Garran.
I also run Motivational and Developmental seminars/sessions, Specially formulated “Icebreaker” Sessions in between long meetings seminars & luncheons, Individual Sessions for Complex, Health and Mental Issues (that includes Parkinson, Cancer, back pain, neck pain, sleeplessness, fall prevention, confidence, chronic conditions, personality development, stress management, Trauma Management, preparation for exams, interviews or recommended by your GP or Physios).
